It includes sectors such as fitness, nutrition, mental health, beauty, and alternative medicine. According to the Global Wellness Institute, the global wellness economy was valued at over $5.6 trillion in 2022, a massive 14% jump from 2019.

What drove such a growth in spend on wellness in just three years? Below were our observations while we were developing the XtraClubs concept.

Digital Wellness Solutions: The integration of technology into wellness facilities, and practices, such as fitness apps and online therapy, has expanded access to wellness resources.

Personalisation: Consumers are seeking personalised wellness experiences tailored to their specific needs, leading to the rise of customised fitness plans, dietary recommendations, and wellness retreats.

Preventive Health: There is a growing emphasis on preventive health measures, encouraging people to adopt healthy lifestyles to avoid chronic diseases and improve longevity.

The Role of XtraClubs in the Australian Wellness Industry

XtraClubs is at the forefront of the wellness revolution in Australia, providing an service that welcomes wellness enthusiasts to use facilities such as sauna, ice and steam — at a significantly less cost per week compared to other wellness centres.

Prior to our opening at Bondi Junction in early April 2024, on average Sydneysiders would spend $1.10 per minute to be inside a wellness centre.

With our base rate (Essentials Membership) at $27.95 per week, that cost has dramatically gone down.
